Cadet Welfare Society Scholarship

Every year Cadet Welfare Society is awarding scholarship to NCC cadets for their excellence in academics and NCC activities. This year three of our cadets, CUO R L Sobin, CUO Ashmi S and Sgt Abina J V received Rs 6000 each as Cadet Welfare Scholarship for their outstanding performance. Cadets were appreciated by Lt Col Sujit S Unni, Officer Commanding, 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil.

The CATC cum IGC TSC camp was conducted from 21-7-2025 to 30-7-2025 at NTA, Idayapatti. Our cadets Franklin, Hari Ragesh and Aswin attended this camp. They represented Madurai group. CATC cum IUC RDC Camp was conducted at NTA, Idayapatti from 11-09-2025 to 20-09-2025. Our cadet Jasfer J A was selected to attend this camp and he represented 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil. The Annual Training Camp was conducted at Rohini College of Engineering & Technology, Anjugramam from 08-07-2025 to 17-07-2025. Our Cadet SUO R L Sobin was the Camp overall senior and he was appreciated by the Camp commandant. Cadet Abijith was a member of SD Group dance team which won first prize. Our SW cadets got second prize in group dance competition. The Combined Annual Training Camp was conducted at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Kumaracoil from 19-08-2025 to 28-08-2025. Cadet SUO John Jins was the Camp overall senior and he was appreciated by the Camp Commandant. Cadet L/Cpl Priyadharsan got the Best Firer award. Our cadets got first prize for group song. Our cadet Sterwin was the member of Volleyball team which won first prize. Idea and Innovation Inter Unit Competition was conducted at NTA, Idayapatti on 18-9-25. Our cadets Cpl Akshaya B V and Dona Juliet Mary D S were selected to attend this camp after the selection process conducted at Unit level.

Thai Sainik Camps

All India Thal Sainik Camp was conducted at DG NCC camp Parade ground, Delhi Cantonment, New Delhi from 01-09-2025 to 12-09-2025. The camp was organized by NCC Group HQ, Aligarh on behalf of UP Directorate. Our cadet Aswin H was selected to attend this camp and he represented Tamil Nadu Directorate in the category ‘Judging Distance and Field Signal’. He underwent ten selection camps to achieve this. He excelled in this camp and got appreciation from DDG of TN, P & AN directorate, Commodore Raghav. Cdt Aswin is the second cadet of our college to achieve this since the inception of NCC in our college. Our Correspondent Rev Fr S Godwin Selva Justus, our Principal Dr J Maheswaran, our Bursar Rev Fr Xavier Raj and Our Vice Principal Dr V Christus Jeyasingh appreciated Sobin for his achievement.

The CATC cum IGC TSC camp was conducted from 21-7-2025 to 30-7-2025 at NTA, Idayapatti. The camp was organized by 2 (TN) BN NCC (Trichy Group), on behalf of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Andaman Nicobar Directorate. Five cadets from our college attended this camp and they represented Madurai Group. One cadet attended in the category ‘Map Reading’, one cadet in firing, one cadet in JD FS, and two cadets in ‘Health & Hygiene’. After successful completion of the camp, cadets Franklin, Hari Ragesh and Aswin were selected for CATC cum Dte TSC Trg I to be held at NTA, Idayapatti, from 1-8-25 to 10-8-25. Cadet Franklin got silver medal in ‘Map Reading’ category.

The CATC Cum Pre Dte TSC – II camp was conducted from 11-08-2025 to 20-08-2025 at NTA, Idayapatti. The camp was organized by 2 (TN) Armd SQN NCC, Madurai, on behalf of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Andaman Nicobar Directorate. Three cadets from our college attended this camp and they represented TN Dte. One cadet attended in the category ‘Map Reading’, one cadet in JD FS and one cadet in ‘Health & Hygiene’. After successful completion of the camp, cadet Aswin was selected for CATC cum Pre Dte TSC - III to be held at NTA, Idayapatti, from 21-8-25 to 30-8-25.

The CATC Cum Pre Dte TSC – III camp was conducted from 21-08-2025 to 30-08-2025 at NTA, Idayapatti. The camp was organized by 14 (TN) BN NCC, Dindigul on behalf of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Andaman Nicobar Directorate. Cadet Aswin from our college attended this camp in the category JD FS. After successful completion of the camp, he was selected for AITSC to be held at DG Parade Ground, New Delhi, from 01-09-2025 to 12-09-2025.

Republic Day Camp

CATC cum IUC RDC Camp was conducted at NTA, Idayapatti from 11-09-2025 to 20-09-2025. The camp was organized by 4 (TN) ENGR COY NCC, Madurai on behalf of NCC Group, Madurai. Our cadet Jasfer J A was selected to attend this camp and he represented 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil. He successfully completed the camp and got selected to attend CATC cum GP RDC TRG – I camp to be held at NTA, Idayapatti from 21-9-25 to 30-9-25.

SSB Capsule (Super 30)

SSB Capsule is being organized by DG NCC at Directorate level as part of Training Curriculum in grooming of cadets’ development of leadership traits and personality. Our cadet CUO Sobin got selected and attended the CATC cum SSB Coaching Capsule (Super 30) held at NCC Group HQ, Puducherry from 03-01-2026 to 12-01-2026. This camp was conducted by 1(P) Naval Unit NCC, Puducherry. He is one among the thirty cadets from TN, P and AN Directorate. Cadets were given training about the stages involved in SSB interview and how to clear it successfully.

Army Attachment Camp

Aim of Army Attachment camps is to expose selected Senior Division / Senior Wing cadets to Armed Forces environment to give a feel of Military Training. Our cadet L/Cpl Hari Raghesh attended Army Attachment Camp conducted at Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington from 08 Dec to 19 Dec 2025. These cadets were exposed to Regular Indian Army training & routine.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Camp

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Camp II was conducted from 19-01-2026 to 30-01-2026 at NTA, Idayapatti. In this camp Tamil Nadu Directorate was paired with Maharashtra Directorate. Cadets exchanged the knowledge of cultural heritage, history, social customs, traditions and language of both states. Our cadets L/Cpl Ram Gopal T, Berlin George G, A Fathima Rayyan and Adlin M participated in this camp.

Annual Training Camps

The Annual Training Camp was conducted at Rohini College of Engineering & Technology, Anjugramam from 08-07-2025 to 17-07-2025. Twenty cadets, 12 SD and 8 SW cadets from our college attended the camp. The Opening Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni on 9 July 2025. Daily early morning Physical Training was given to all cadets. Drill with and without weapon were conducted to all cadets. All cadets got opportunity to fire using .22 rifle. Weapon training classes were handled. To improve the morale of our cadets, games were organized daily evening. Daily evening cultural events were performed by our energetic young cadets. Drug awareness rally, motivation seminar, 108 Ambulance demo etc are the other activities. Closing Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni. Dr R Rajesh, Principal, Rohini College of Engineering was the Guest of Honour. Our Cadet SUO R L Sobin was the Camp overall senior and he was appreciated by the Camp commandant. Cadet Abijith was a member of SD Group dance team which won first prize. Our SW cadets got second prize in group dance competition.

The Combined Annual Training Camp was conducted at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Kumaracoil from 19-08-2025 to 28-08-2025. Nineteen cadets (12 SD and 7 SW) and the ANO of our college attended the camp. The Opening Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni on 20 Aug 2025. In connection with National Brotherhood Day a Blood Donation camp was organized on 25-8-2025. Fifty two cadets including seven cadets from our college donated blood. Closing Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni. Our Cadet SUO John Jins was the Camp overall senior and he was appreciated by the Camp Commandant. Blood Donation

In order to encourage our students to donate blood, a blood donation camp was conducted on 17-03-2026 at Conference Hall. Nearly one hundred and fifty students including twenty NCC cadets, donated blood. Dr Rakesh, Medical Officer, Blood Bank, Kanya Kumari Medical College Hospital, Nagercoil, and his team conducted the camp.

Pongal celebration

On 15-01-26, twelve cadets and the ANO participated in the Pongal celebrations at Ambedkar colony and conducted sports for the children along with Tamil Mantram. Cadets got a chance to mingle with the villagers and acquired social awareness.

National Shramdaan Day

As per the direction of NCC unit, National Shramdaan Day was observed on 25-09-2025. It is conducted in connection with Swachhta Hi Sewa 2025. The theme of National Shramdaan Day is Ek Din Ek Ghanda Ek Saath. Maj S Edwin Gladson, ANO, St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai briefed the cadets about the program. Cadets took a cleanliness drive in the college premises and also in Indra Nagar. Forty cadets participated in the program.

Swachh Bharat program

Our 11 (TN) NCC battalion organized a Swachh Bharat program at Nagercoil Town Railway station on 30-09-2025. This program is a part of Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025 initiated by the Central government. One hundred and sixty cadets including forty cadets from our college participated in this program. This program was organized in view of creating awareness on cleanliness to the cadets as well as to the public. Cadets from our college, S T Hindu College, Scott Christian College and Pioneer Kumarasamy College participated in this program. Cadets distributed awareness flyers to the public, took Pledge and did cleanliness drive in the Railway station. Under the guidance of Col C P Unnikrishnan, Officer Commanding and Lt Col Sujit S Unni, AO 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil the program was conducted. Maj S Edwin Gladson, ANO, St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Lt Ben, ANO Scott Christian College, Lt Radhika, ANO, Pioneer Kumaraswamy College and Mr Thanumalaya Perumal, CTO S T Hindu College coordinated the program.

Seminar on ‘Harmful Effects of Plastic’

In connection Swachhta Hi Sewa 2025, a seminar on ‘Harmful Effects of Plastic’ was conducted on 27-09-2025 to our cadets. Dr A Ancy Milrad, Assistant Professor in Chemistry, SXCCE was the Resourse person. In her lecture she explained various types of plastics, how plastic is ruling the world, the harmful effects of plasic to environment and how to reduce it. Eighty cadets participated in the program and got benefitted.

International Yoga Day

As per the direction given by our NCC unit 11(TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil, and Anna University Chennai, International Yoga Day was celebrated in our college on 21st June 2025 from 7.45 am to 8.45 am. A brief introduction about Yoga day was given to the cadets by the ANO Maj S Edwin Gladson. Our Principal Dr.J.Maheshwaran explained the benefits of Yoga and asked the students to practice it regularly. Under the guidance of Physical Directress Mrs Emerlin Joshila, cadets Abisheik, Athi Krishna and Jebin led the Yoga program. The program was conducted with the blessings of our correspondent Rev.Fr.S.Godwin Selva Justus and Financial Administrator Rev.Fr R Xavier Raj. Forty two cadets (18 SD and 24 SW) participated in this event. NSS Programme Officer Mr Agnel Livingsten was also present during the program.

Independence Day was celebrated in our college premises on 15-08-2025. Our Correspondent Rev Fr S Godwin Selva Justus hoisted the National Flag and delivered the presidential address. Our Principal Dr J Maheswaran gave a special address on that occasion. Vice principal Dr V Christus Jeyasingh, was also present during the function. Earlier our NCC cadets performed March past. National Integration awareness cultural programs were conducted by students. Camp certificates were distributed to the cadets. About fifty cadets participated in this function.

Independence day was celebrated by the Kanyakumari District administration on 15-08-2025 at Anna Stadium, Nagercoil. Mrs R Alagumeena IAS, District Collector, Kanyakumari and Mr R Stalin IPS Superintendent of Police, Kanyakumari were the chief guests. Thirty four NCC cadets performed march past along with Police personal. Seven cadets from our college participated in this program. Cadets were trained by Sub Bhasa of 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil, Arrangements were done by the district administration.

NCC Day was celebrated on 08-04-2026 in our college. Senior Under Officer John Jins J welcomed the gathering. ANO Maj S Edwin Gladson presented the report of NCC activities for the academic year 2025-2026. Lt Col Surinder Singh Yadav, Administrative Officer, 11 (TN) BN, NCC, Nagercoil, was the Chief Guest of the function. During his address, he appreciated the cadets for their good performance. Correspondent Rev Fr S Godwin Selva Justus delivered the presidential address. Principal Dr J Maheshwaran gave a special address, Rev Fr R Xavier Raj, Financial Administrator, and Dr V Christus Jeyasingh, Vice Principal felicitated the gathering. During the function prizes were distributed to the deserved cadets. Cultural events are also performed by the cadets. CUO Ashmi S proposed the vote of thanks. Sub Sivanesan, Training JCO, 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil, and Dr N Sheen Kumar, AHoD, Department of Humanities & Sciences were also present during the function. Arrangements were done by the cadets.

Deputy Director General Visit

DDG Commodore S Raghav visited 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil on 03-07-2025. Our ANO and eight cadets attended the program. As a part of the program Guard of Honour was given to the DDG. Our cadet CUO Shergin Sam was the Guard commander. DDG interacted with the cadets and appreciated them.

Har Ghar Tiranga

The "Har Ghar Tiranga" invites every Indian to bring the Tiranga into their homes and proudly hoist it in celebration of our nation's independence. "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign was successfully implemented during the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, with the Tiranga being prominently hoisted across homes, offices, institutions and public places. This has made the Independence Day celebration a patriotic, participative and widely celebrated occasion across the country. He campaign has also served as a special occasion for the public to pay heartfelt tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation and in honour of thiranga. Our cadets actively participated in this drive on 15-8-2025. Thirty-four cadets unfurled National flag in their residences took selfie and uploaded in the portal of Ministry of culture, Government of India. Certificates were also downloaded from the website.

Fit India Initiative

NCC is participating in ‘Khelo India Fit India’ initiative, in collaboration with Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs. Fit India is reaffirming its importance in promoting health and wellness through regular physical activities. As per the direction given by our NCC unit 11(TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil, our cadets participated in the Fit India Campaign on 15th Aug 2025. A brief introduction about Fit India initiative was given to the cadets by the ANO Maj S Edwin Gladson. Cadets performed Yoga on that day and took pledge of being fit. Fifty cadets and the ANO participated in this program.

Idea and Innovation competition

Idea and Innovation competition is conducted to nurture innovative thinking among cadets, promote national development and instill a sense of responsibility and service through practical impactful solutions. The conceptual focus is centered on encouraging creativity, problem solving and practical solutions that align with national interests, defense, social issues and community development. Idea and Innovation Inter Unit Competition was conducted at NTA, Idayapatti on 18-9-25. Our cadets Cpl Akshaya B V and Dona Juliet Mary D S were selected to attend this camp after the selection process conducted at Unit level. They presented their idea on the topic ‘AI Powered Accessible Irrigation and Energy Management System’. They represented 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil in the competition.

Poster Competition

As a part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025, a poster competition was conducted to our cadets on 02-10-2025. Cadets were asked to prepare posters with the theme of ‘Swachh Bharat’. Forty cadets actively participated in this competition. Cadets proposed different ideas to make our nation Swachh Bharat. As a part of Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025, an essay competition was conducted to our cadets. The title given for essay competition was ‘Role of youth in attaining Swachh Bharat’. Maj S Edwin Gladson, ANO, St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai briefed the cadets about the competition and the purpose of conducting it. Sixty cadets actively participated in this competition.

Start Up presentation

As a part of ‘Viksit Bharat’, NCC has introduced “Start Up presentation” competition at National level. Our cadet SUO John Jins and CUO Stephan Raj were selected for the Start Up workshop conducted at NTA, Idayapatti on 05-10-2025. They were two among the ten cadets represented the Madurai group in the Special Cadets Start Up workshop conducted in the TN, P & AN Directorate level. The workshop was conducted by EXPA (Exchange Participants Association of India) trainers. Cadets were given training on startup fundamentals. They were evaluated based on their communication skills and idea quality. Cadets were tested on their communication skills, risk taking ability and team collaboration. Our cadets gave good feedback about the program.

OC Farewell

Col C P Unnikrishnan, Officer Commanding 11 TN BN NCC, Nagercoil, got retired from service after 32 years of service in the Indian Army on 31-10-2025. A function was arranged at battalion on 29-10-25 to honour the officer. Our ANO Maj S Edwin Gladson and L/Cpl Ramgopal attended the program. On 31-10-25, after giving Guard of honour and Handing over ceremony, Pulling out parade was conducted.

Commemoration of 150 years of VANDE MADARAM SONG

The year 2025 marks 150 Years of Vande Mataram. Our national song “Vande Mataram”, by Bankimchandra Chatterji was written during the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Navami which was on 7th November in 1875. Vande Mataram first appeared in the literary journal Bangadarshan as part of his novel Anandamath. The song, invoking the Motherland as the embodiment of strength, prosperity and divinity, gave poetic expression to India’s awakening spirit of unity and self-respect. Our cadets celebrated the Commemoration of 150 years of VANDE MADARAM SONG on 7-11-2025. Prof Jasmine Suguna, Head department of Management Studies, SXCCE was the Chief Guest of the function. She explained the history and heritage behind the song. Prof Jenit Hanson and the ANO were also present during the program.

‘B’ Certificate Exam Training Program

NCC unit conducted training to the cadets appearing for the ‘B’ certificate exam in our college on 7-2-26 and 8-2-26. Under the guidance of Lt Col Sujit S Unni, Officer Commanding and Lt Col S S Yadav Administrative Officer, 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil the Training was conducted. Nearly 270 cadets from 17 institutions of our district (including 29 from our college) participated in the training and got benefited. ‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificate Examinations

Our cadets attended the C certificate exam special training sessions conducted by 11 (TN) BN NCC at Pioneer Kumarasamy College, Nagercoil on 10-01-2026 and 11-01-2026 and got benefited. Thirty five cadets (25 SD and 10 SW cadets) cleared ‘C’ certificate examination and twenty nine cadets (19 SD and 10 SW cadets) cleared the ‘B’ certificate examination held during 2025-2026.

Annual Training Camp

The Annual Training Camp was conducted at NVKS Sr Sec School, Attoor from 6-5-25 to 15-5-25. Sixteen cadets, 10 SD and 6 SW cadets from our college attended the camp. The Opening Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni on 7 May 2025. In order to incorporate overall training to the cadets, 108 Ambulance – First Aid Demonstration, Disaster Management Seminar, Fire and Rescue Demonstration, Drug abuse and illicit trafficking awareness rally and Lecture cum demonstration on Section formation & Bunker bursting were conducted during the camp. Closing Address was delivered by Camp Comdt Camp Comdt Lt Col Sujith S Unni. Adv S Krishna Kumar, Secretary, NVKS Group of Institutions, is Sri K Ramachandran Nair, Academic Director, NVKS Sr Sec School and Dr D S Prasobh Madhavan, Asst Prof of English, NVKS B Ed College, Attoor were present during the occasion. Our ANO Maj S Edwin Gladson was the Camp Adjutant. Cadet Jerin J S got first prize in Solo dance competition. Our SD cadets got prizes from camp commandant for Pyramid. SW cadets participated in Kho Kho competition and got prizes.

CATC cum IUC TSC camp

The CATC cum IUC TSC camp was conducted at NTA, Idayapatti, from 9-5-2025 to 18-5-2025. The camp was organized by 7 (TN) BN NCC, on behalf of Gp HQ, Madurai. Eight SD cadets and one SW cadet were selected to attend this camp and they represented 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil. Three cadets were selected in the category ‘Map Reading’, three cadets for firing, and three cadets for ‘Health & Hygiene’. After successful completion of the camp eight cadets were selected to attend CATC cum Gp TSC Trg I to be held at NTA, Idayapatti, from 21-5-2025 to 30-5-2025.

Army Attachment Camp

Four cadets of our college attended the Army Attachment Camp at 7 Engineer Regiment, Secunderabad, from 19 May 2025 to 30 May 2025. These cadets were exposed to Regular Indian Army training & routine. Opening address was given by Lt Col Nadeem Khan, Commanding Officer, 7 Engineer Regiment. Latest equipment layout and briefing was done by Nb Sub Binu Kumar and Hav Karthik. Cadets also visited EME Archives and Museum. Totally sixty nine cadets from Tamil Nadu participated in the camp. Our cadets performed well in this camp.

Group Commander Adm Inspection

Madurai Group Commander Col Chauhan visited 11 (TN) BN NCC, Nagercoil for the purpose of Adm inspection on 28-05-25. Our ANO and five cadets attended the program. As a part of the program, Guard of Honour was given to the Group Commander. Our cadet CUO Shergin Sam was the Guard Commander. Gp Commander appreciated our cadets.
