The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 40 students. Gradually the intake was increased to 60 and currently we have an intake of 120 students. The department aims at developing technically competent Electronics and Communication Engineers with academic excellence, innovative research, ethical standards and international outlook to serve the society. The department offers three Master degree in the specialization of M.E. Communication Systems, M.E. Medical Electronics and M.E. VLSI Design. The department is recognized by Anna University for Ph.D. level research. The department has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi (Tier II) till December 2028. We are fortunate to be the center of choice for most of the stakeholders in this region. The department has experienced and committed faculty members with vast research experience to impart quality education, develop professionalism, project guidance, personality development and mentoring. At present there are 17 faculty members with Ph.D. and 7 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D. The department has 9 recognized supervisors. The department has well equipped laboratories for imparting practical knowledge and improve the skills of the students. The computer laboratories in the department are connected with 1Gbps Internet facilities. The students and faculty members are free to access the internet. The classrooms are equipped with ICT facilities to engage the students in an interactive way. Students are provided the entire required platform for their overall development in sports, cultural, curricular, technical & regular academics. I am pleased to share that our students are consistently excelling in their placement process in reputed companies like H & R block, Kaar Technologies, Data Patterns Private Limited, Infiniti Software Solutions Private Limited, Soft Square, Digital Logicel Solutions Private Limited, Vi Microsystems Private Limited, etc. The main focus is to make the students blossom into meritorious and self-disciplined engineers by smart work. In order to exhibit the talents of the students, Association of ELECTROS is actively organizing special lectures, seminars, workshops, value added courses, symposium and conferences. Many of the students and faculty members are active members of professional bodies like ACM, IET, IEEE, ISTE and IETE. Our final year students received IEEE Richard E. Merwin Scholarship Award with financial assistance of 1500 dollars during the academic year 2024 – 2025 and 2025 – 2026.Students of our department actively participate in National Level Technical Symposia and Conferences conducted by other colleges and win prizes in various events. The comments and suggestions of the stakeholders are expected which will help us to move to the next level and provide us with encouragement and excellence.
